Initial Care

Upon delivery, your furniture may have accumulated minor transit dust.
We recommend a gentle clean before use:

  • Wipe surfaces with a soft, dry microfiber cloth.

Everyday Care & General Maintenance

Cleaning:

  • Dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
  • For spills, use a damp microfiber cloth and mild soap, then dry immediately.Avoid bleach, abrasive cleaners, or harsh chemicals.
  • Wipe in the direction of the grain for timber and natural materials.

Protective Measures:

  • Use coasters, trivets, and placemats to prevent heat or moisture damage.
  • Place mats or trays under vases, pots, and plants.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.

Care by Material Type

American Oak & Indoor Teak

  • Finished with Osmo PolyX Raw (pigmented hard wax oil).
  • Rejuvenate every 12–18 months (or 6–12 months for high-use areas).
  • For deep restoration: lightly sand (400-grit) and reapply Osmo.

Outdoor Teak

  • Ages naturally into a soft silver-grey.
  • Clean regularly; use Golden Care Teak Cleaner, Protector, or Shield to maintain finish.
  • Light sanding for stubborn marks before applying care products.

Microcement

  • Wipe with a soft cloth and pH-balanced cleaner.
  • Avoid acidic or abrasive products.Use trivets; protect from direct sunlight to prevent fading.

White Cedar / Mindi Wood

Clean with a soft cloth and mild soapy water.

Stone (Amalfi Collection)

Use a soft cloth with mild soap and water.

Always use trivets to prevent heat or water marks.

Outdoor Cushions (Sunbrella®)

  • Use an under
  • Brush off loose dirt.
  • Clean with mild soap, rinse thoroughly, and air dry.

Jute Rugs

  • Vacuum in the direction of the weave (no beater brush).
  • Rotate regularly to prevent uneven fading.
  • Use an underlay to avoid slippage and protect floors.

Spills & Pet Accidents:

  • Treat immediately.
  • Use a vinegar-water mix (1:1) for stains and baking soda for odours.
  • Twist loose fibres back into the weave — never pull.

Product Expectations

Each Sun Republic piece is unique. Knots, grain variations, and slight colour differences are natural features of the materials and not considered flaws.

In accordance with the Consumer Goods (Toppling Furniture) Information Standard 2024, we provide safety warnings and anchoring information for applicable products.

Important:

  • Unsecured furniture may pose a risk of serious injury or death, especially to children.
  • Always follow safety guidelines and use wall-anchoring kits where recommended.
  • A warning label will be displayed on relevant product pages.
