Rooted in a deep love for craftsmanship and inspired by a life shaped by creativity, Sun Republic was born from a journey that blends family tradition, personal transformation, and a desire to create spaces that feel like home.

My story begins in the comforting chaos of a childhood spent among tools, timber, and the steady hands of my father and grandfather—true craftsmen. The scent of sawdust, the hum of hard work, and the joy of creating something from nothing laid the foundation for a lifelong passion for design.

With a career spanning more than two decades in building, interior design, architecture, and consultancy—while raising two incredible sons along the way—I’ve had the privilege of shaping not just homes, but stories.

When life shifted in unexpected and heartbreaking ways, I found the strength to rebuild—to create again—and to discover beauty in a new chapter.

That chapter began as BJS Designs, born from love and determination. It reconnected me with the power of purpose-led design. Over time, with the unwavering support of my sons and the encouragement of my fiancé Ian, Sun Republic came to life—a brand built on heart, heritage, and hope.
