Our Makers

Welcome to the sustainable furniture & homewares movement.

By now we've all heard of slow fashion, which prioritises respect for people, animals and the environment. This concept also applies to furniture & homewares.

At Sun Republic we value quality and individual craftsmanship over mass production.

Slow made - hand made.

We work closely with our small community of authentic and traditional artisans, investing in our commitment for ethical and sustainability small batch production, to create unique, timeless and individual hand-crafted pieces, that take time to craft.

We are committed to sourcing our products ethically and sustainably; minimising our impact on the environment and empowering communities of skilled artisans. We do this by taking the time to source only the best products for your home, whilst also ensuring our suppliers' working conditions and environments are safe and acceptable, and that people are paid a fair, liveable wage.

Our artisians are in Morocco, India, Indonesia and Australia, empowering these communities to be fairly compensated for their craftsmanship.

The talented artisans who hand-make many of Sun Republic's collections, such as cushions, throws, wall hangings and furniture, work in home environments, which are not subject to daily quotas, and are often made individually and in relation to demand.

Our 'handmade' pieces are lovingly hand-crafted from all natural materials such as 100% Cotton, Linen, Jute, Seagrasses, Rattan, and Teak.

One crafted piece can take an artisian up to two weeks to complete, with thought and care for you and your loved ones to enjoy.

You can take pride in your home, knowing that each piece is unique, high-quality, tells a story, and supports artisans and communities.
